About this Event
HURT — A Live Music Film Experience
HURT is more than a music video premiere, It’s a story about pain, near death experience, family, forgiveness and the strange ways music can bring people back together after so much wreckage.
Join Adam Knight for an intimate afternoon centered around his reimagining of “Hurt,” written by Trent Reznor and famously reinterpreted by Johnny Cash.
Long before Adam recorded his own version, this song carried a deep meaning within his family, particularly in his relationship with his father. Their story is complicated..It is one marked by pain, conflict, love, forgiveness and years of trying to understand one another.
Somehow, one of the darkest songs ever written became a place where they could meet and find connection.
Through all they experienced together, “Hurt” became one of the pieces of music that helped Adam and his father understand each other differently and ultimately grow closer, That history is what made recording the song feel less like covering a classic and more like confronting something deeply personal for Adam.
For the first time, guests will experience the HURT music video before its public release, followed by a live podcast conversation with Local Sets ATX host Reid Estreicher, exploring the story behind the project: Adam’s childhood, his relationship with his father, the process of Adam nearly taking his own life and why this particular song became such an important part of their relationship and Adams healing.
The afternoon will also include an intimate live performance from Adam and Jason Bradford, including two completely unreleased original songs that have never been heard publicly before.
This isn’t a traditional concert.
It’s part film premiere, part live podcast, part performance and an opportunity to step inside the story behind the music before the rest of the world hears it..
