ACT 1Act 1 is designed for senior students and adults who are new to acting or have some previous experience and want to develop strong foundations in stage performance.
Whether you are considering an acting career or would simply like to build confidence and creativity, this fun and dynamic course introduces the essential skills needed to perform truthfully and confidently on stage.
During the first semester, students explore a variety of widely practised acting methods and are introduced to influential theatre practitioners. Through improvisation, acting exercises, scene study and monologue work, students develop physical awareness, imagination, characterisation and complete belief in performance.
The first semester concludes with an open workshop in which students perform group pieces and monologues for a small audience.
During the second semester, students continue their acting training while rehearsing a series of short plays. The course culminates in a Night of One-Acts, performed live in the theatre.
