You'll learn how to mix cold wax with acrylic paint to create thick, tactile surfaces, soft blending, and layered textures that bring your artwork to life. Inspired by the striking colors and graceful form of the blue-and-gold macaw, this project is designed to be both fun and approachable, with plenty of opportunities to make it your own.
Throughout the workshop, you'll explore techniques for building texture, creating movement with palette knives and brushes, and balancing bold color with soft, atmospheric backgrounds. Fine details, such as the macaw's expressive eye and distinctive facial markings, will complete your painting while allowing the textured feathers to remain the star of the piece.
