About this Event
IStructE Northwest Young Members Group invites you to visit the site of the new Acoustics Building at the University of Salford, a project set to establish global standards in sound innovation.
The building centres on a triple-height "Volume" space, within which sit multiple independent, acoustically isolated structures. This unusual brief has driven some genuinely interesting structural solutions. Renaissance, who delivered the full structural and civil engineering design, will lead us through the site and talk through the key design challenges they faced along the way.
Whether you are early in your career or simply curious about acoustic engineering, this is a rare chance to see specialist structural design in progress and to hear directly from the engineers behind it.
