About this Event

Step off the pavement and into possibility.

Join us for A Walk in the Woods — a brisk, energizing hike through Memorial Park, one of Houston’s best-kept outdoor secrets. These winding bayou trails are where the city fades, the trees open up, and you start to remember what fresh air feels like.

If you’ve been stuck in a routine — work, errands, repeat — this is your reset button. It’s an easy way to move your body, meet fun people, and remind yourself that Houston’s actually full of adventure… if you know where to look.

You don’t need to be “fit” or “outdoorsy.” You just need to show up.

We’ll take care of the rest.

🥾 What to Expect:

- 3–4 miles at a brisk but conversational pace (22–25 min/mile)

- Natural terrain: dirt trails, rolling hills, and a few roots to keep it interesting

- No-drop group: no one gets left behind

- Perfect for: active Houstonians, new friends, and anyone ready to swap small talk for sunshine

🎒 What to Bring:

✅ Trail shoes or sturdy sneakers (you’ll want the traction!)

✅ Water — it gets warm out there

✅ Bug spray & sunscreen

✅ Layers for the weather

✅ Your friendly, leashed dog (if they’re social and trail-ready!)

🚫 No kids, please — this one’s for adults only

🅿️ Where to Meet:

Memorial Park Rally Pavilion

Arrive by 8:45 AM for a 9 AM start — we hit the trail on time and can’t send locations mid-hike. Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TohzVhGDtjYcrEYx5

Fees:

$2 for parking or you can park on the Memorial Park loop and walk over. The hike is free.

🐾 Dog Policy:

Friendly dogs welcome — but please keep them on a short leash, in control, and respectful of other hikers and pups.

Bring water and poop bags.
