About this Event
***
A/VEC (Audio/Visual Experiential Collaboration) is a live experiment pairing music and sound design with film. Join director of photography Cameron David Smith and multi-instrumentalist Machado Mijiga as Mijiga creates a live score in real time for Smith’s short film.
With limited exposure to the film beforehand, Mijiga will experience the work for the first time alongside the audience, responding instinctively through sound. Following the first screening, Mijiga and Smith will discuss the work and their creative approaches before performing it again, evolving the score through collaboration and exploring the relationship between sound and image in real time.
The evening concludes with an audience Q+A, inviting viewers further into the creative process. An ephemeral, in-person collaboration presented for one night only by Marmoset + Swanson Studio.
