Join Endless Wonders Books for a fun evening learning a new craft with other book lovers!
Fall is officially here, which means we're dreaming up bookish crafts! We strongly believe cross stitching pairs beautifully with an audiobook and a treat, and what better kit than one that expresses your love for books?! Come and join us for expert instruction on how to cross stitch, chat and connect with fellow book (and craft) lovers, and enjoy some delicious wine, beverages, and snacks.
We'll be using Junebug and Darlin's adorable Book Lover kit to start our cross stitch journey. Walk away with a toolkit of best practices, the beginnings of a very adorable cross stitch piece, and a potential new crafty obsession. No experience necessary, but do bring reading glasses and thimbles if you need/use them, plus a pair of scissors.
About the Kit
Stitch together a charming piece with this beginner-friendly counted cross stitch kit. Featuring an adorable heart design, it's the perfect project for crafters of all experience levels. Once complete, display your finished work on a bookshelf, in a library, or anywhere that celebrates your love of reading. This kit includes everything you need to create a meaningful handmade decoration that book lovers will treasure.
Meet the instructor: Shannon Squire
Shannon Squire (she/her) is a craftasaurus rex who loves nothing more than to share her love of making with others. One of her absolute most favorite things in the world is feeling that fire of excitement when discovering a new craft, and being able to share and inspire that in others is another of her most favorite things. She loves (and teaches) hand stitching (embroidery, cross stitch, English Paper Piecing, hand quilting), weaving, garment and bag sewing, and coil basket making, and is always on the lookout for new crafts to try.
About Endless Wonders Books
Endless Wonders Books is a trans, queer, and neurodivergent-owned bookstore that exclusively features books by and about people from historically underrepresented or marginalized communities with a mission to help readers expand their worldviews and increase community engagement. They currently have a microstore inside Hungry Heart, a bakery in the Montavilla neighborhood in East Portland. Endless Wonders Books opened in June 2025.
