About this Event
Join a SKSP Ranger for a hike along the Hadow Trail and discover the natural beauty and history tucked throughout the park. This moderate 2-mile loop combines the Boston Mill Road, Hadow, and Tribute Trails and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. Along the way, we’ll visit a peaceful stream, admire a remarkable 300-year-old tree, and explore historic structures that offer a glimpse into the area’s past. Learn a little about Robert Hadow, the trail’s namesake, and the history of the land he called home!
Hikers will meet at the Carriage Barn in the Historic Area next to the main parking lot, before heading out to traverse wooded hillsides, trek alongside Gap Run, and navigate natural trail features such as rocks, roots, and uneven terrain.
Pre-registration is encouraged but the program is free and open to all. Participants should wear sturdy footwear, bring water, and be prepared for varying trail conditions. Park admission fees apply ($10 per car). Children and leashed dogs are welcome..
This hike is ideal for visitors and their families who are looking to enjoy fresh air, scenic vistas, and a guided outdoor adventure in the foothills of the Blue Ridge.
