About this Event
A Taste of Canadian Rye with John & Cooper Sleeman
Four whiskies. Generations of tradition. A little Canadian spirit! 🥃🇨🇦
There's something special about a good Canadian rye. Even better when you get to share a few drams with the people who know it best!
Join us at The Lunar Rogue Pub on Thursday, November 19th, as we welcome John Sleeman and Cooper Sleeman for a special guided tasting celebrating Canadian whisky, its craftsmanship, and the stories behind the bottles.
A Canadian Story Worth Sharing
The Sleeman family's distilling roots stretch all the way back to 1836, and today that legacy continues at Spring Mill Distillery in Guelph, Ontario.
Housed in a beautifully restored historic mill, the distillery brings together generations of tradition with modern craftsmanship. Using Canadian grains, traditional distilling techniques, and a hands-on approach to production, John Sleeman & Sons is helping write the next chapter in Canadian whisky.
Their dedication hasn't gone unnoticed, either! At the 2026 Canadian Whisky Awards, John Sleeman & Sons earned recognition for Best Whisky No Age Statement and Best Single Cask Whisky.
And this November, you'll have the opportunity to hear some of those stories directly from John and Cooper themselves.
🥃 Our Whisky Lineup
We'll be exploring four expressions from the Sleeman & Sons collection:
- Sleeman & Sons Rye Whisky
- Sleeman & Sons Traditional Straight Whisky
- Sleeman & Sons High Rye Straight Whisky
- Sleeman & Sons The Cooper's Rye
From classic rye character to bolder expressions, John and Cooper will guide us through the flavours, craftsmanship, and inspiration behind each whisky.
Whether you're a longtime rye enthusiast or just beginning to explore Canadian whisky, expect great conversation, a little whisky education, and plenty of stories along the way.
