About this Event
A Seat at the Red Table is a World AIDS Day community dinner and conversation hosted by the Black Health Access Point in partnership with Healing & Uniting Every Sista (HUES) at the Umoja Health Access Point (5000 3rd Street, San Francisco) on Friday, December 5 at 6:00 PM.
The purpose of this event is to center the experiences of the Black community members across San Francisco, including those living with HIV, allies, advocates, and anyone committed to holistic Black wellness. The evening will feature a shared dinner, spoken word performances, and a guided fireside-style conversation centering on love, health, and healing in the era of HIV."
Guests will engage in open, stigma-free dialogue about HIV prevention, treatment, and care — including PrEP, U=U, and harm reduction — while also exploring what trust, safety, and connection look like in Black health spaces.
A Seat at the Red Table aims to:
- Reduce stigma by normalizing honest community conversations about HIV.
- Build familiarity and trust with local service providers and health access points.
- Celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of Black San Franciscans — especially Black women — in the ongoing movement for health equity.
- Dinner is complimentary, and all are welcome to join this evening of nourishment, storytelling, and community connection.
