This event will be held at First Baptist Church of Portland, 909 SW 11th Ave. Doors open at 4 PM. Please plan to arrive by 4:15 for check-in and seating before the program begins promptly at 4:30 PM.
BACKGROUND
Multnomah County Chair is the most important election for Portland on the November 3 ballot. Multnomah County has the primary responsibility for spending hundreds of millions of tax dollars to address homelessness, which Portlanders have for over ten years identified as the most important challenge facing our city.
THE CANDIDATE FORUM
Join the Homeless Solutions Coalition to hear candidates for Multnomah County Chair respond to questions on how they'd tackle homelessness if elected. Blair Best, KGW8 Anchor and host of The Story, will serve as moderator.
Confirmed Candidates:
- Sharon Meieran, an emergency room doctor and former Multnomah County District 1 Commissioner
- Shannon Singleton, current Multnomah County District 2 Commisioner
*Julia Brim-Edwards has been invited but not yet confirmed her participation.
THE EXPERT PANEL
Before the debate, special guest former Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber will kick off the event. We'll also hear a vision for what is possible from an expert panel.
