Your Chef: Behnaz Shafiee
This experience will guide you through the preparation of four beloved Persian dishes from scratch, exploring the balance of sweet, savoury, tangy, and aromatic flavours that make Persian food so distinctive.
Under the guidance of our Chef Behnaz, you’ll learn traditional Persian techniques, from preparing the perfect Kookoo Sabzi (herb frittata), Safron rice and the world famous “Tahdig” to creating a rich dish of chicken cooked in walnut and pomegranate sauce, followed by Ranginak, a Persian dessert made with dates.
Discover the ingredients and cooking methods that are at the heart of Persian home cooking and hospitality. By the end of the class, you’ll have enjoyed a complete Persian feast and learned recipes and techniques you can recreate and share at home. Noosh e jan!
On the Menu Tonight:
Kookoo Sabzi — Mixed herbs frittata served with sangak bread
Saffron rice — Fragrant Saffron Basmati Rice & Tahdig (crispy bread from bottom of the pot)
Fesenjoon Stew — Tender Chicken Braised in a Rich walnut and pomegranate sauce
Ranginak — (two desserts in one) You will learn steps in making a persian Halva and how to turn it into Ranginak by adding dates.

Want to save the Eventbrite fee? You can register in person and over the phone directly with the store (604) 939-6200. Payment is required when you register - visa, MasterCard, gift certificates are accepted over the phone, cash and debit in person.
We have a 72 hours cancelation policy. If you need to cancel but have not given 72 hours notice, no refund, transfer to another class or credit will be issued, but you can send somebody in your place.
In the event that not enough participants are registered, we would have to cancel the class. We will notify registered participants at least 48 hrs prior and issue a full refund.
Please inquire prior to booking if there are any food concern. Menu modifications can not be provided during the event.
