A CAPELLA NIGHT!
Hilo and Justin Perry
Hilo
Hilo is an unaccompanied folk duo with tight harmonies & loose sci-fi shtick. They make it their mission to bring "ancient" songs of human rights, human stories, and human work into the future. Their songs are traditional, but their vibe, banter, and arrangements are out of this world. On Earth, Laura Ciporen and Lissa Michalak can be found in New York City. In space, they can usually be found on Hilo station, using ancient songs to coordinate their work on the engineering crew. Their colleagues have compared them to a giant can of space worms.

Justin Perry
The young and remarkably talented Justin Perry is a lover of folk music as well as a wide range of world and historical musical traditions, with interests ranging from country blues, to early opera, to the traditional songs of the British Isles and their descendant cultures in the Americas. He is a singer, artist, poet, and songwriter, who also engages in the visual arts including sculpture, drawing, and painting. Justin's vocal repertoire reveals an avid interest in history, ethnolinguistics, ethnomusicology, and human culture generally, and it includes some of his own original lyrical compositions. This performance will be Justin's professional debut. Don't miss it!
