Join us to celebrate the launch of A Boy from Ferruzzano by Frank Panetta.
Born during the Second World War in Ferruzzano, a small hillside village in Calabria, Frank Panetta’s early life was shaped by poverty, tradition, and resilience. At thirteen and a half, he left everything behind when his family immigrated to Australia, arriving as a foreign-speaking teenager in a country that would ultimately transform his future.
A Boy from Ferruzzano is Frank’s honest and heartfelt account of that journey: from the hardships of village life in Southern Italy, to the disorientation of migration, to the long road toward education that would eventually lead him to become a cardiologist.
More than a story of achievement, this memoir is a tribute – to the family who sacrificed for a better life, to those who helped him along the way, and to Australia for the opportunities it gave him. Woven throughout is his deep gratitude to God for every blessing.
A moving story of identity, gratitude, and the immigrant experience.
