Join authors from Savor Productions, Jessica Benjamin and Rachael Caraluzzi, for a special conversation celebrating the release of A Bite of Boulder: Volume 2, on Thursday, November 12th at 6:30pm, at the Boulder Bookstore.
For this special event, longtime Boulder food writer and historian John Lehndorff will lead a panel conversation with people behind several of Boulder’s most memorable restaurants: Laudisio’s Ristorante, Magdalena’s Holland Restaurant, Mataam Fez, The Mediterranean, and John’s Restaurant.
Together, they’ll revisit the Boulder restaurant scene of decades past: the personalities, places and dishes people still remember; what it was really like to run a restaurant in Boulder; how the city’s dining culture evolved; and why certain restaurants became so deeply woven into the community.
Expect plenty of stories, memories and behind-the-scenes moments from the people who lived this history — and a chance to remember some truly great meals along the way.
About the Book:
Five years after the original A Bite of Boulder, Savor Productions returns with A Bite of Boulder: Volume 2, an entirely new collection celebrating Boulder’s food community.
The book brings together over 55+ recipes from some of Boulder’s favorite restaurants alongside the stories and people behind them. From longtime institutions to newer neighborhood favorites, each chapter offers a glimpse into the businesses that give Boulder its distinct culinary identity.
The book also preserves an important piece of Boulder history through a special collection of historic restaurants — sharing the stories, photographs and recipes of beloved establishments that helped pave the way for the restaurants of today.
Created in collaboration with Boulder’s restaurant community, A Bite of Boulder: Volume 2 is part cookbook, part local history and, above all, a celebration of the people and places that have gathered Boulder around the table.
