7 -> 17 -> 27 by Maviene TranDirected by Shinshin Yuder Tsai
Have you ever wondered what your past selves would think of you? When an aimless 27-year-old receives letters from herself at ages 7 and 17, she is shocked to learn that she’s actually able to respond. This "mostly" autobiographical drama grapples with failed expectations, intergenerational trauma, and the inherent strength of an individual to maintain their identity against forces trying to shape them.
See 7 -> 17 -> 27 in the 2026 EMBARK festival at No Square Theatre in Laguna Beach - a weekend of bold, exciting new work from the dramatists in OCPA's emerging playwrights cohort.
EMBARK, created by Baylee Shlichtman and facilitated by AJ Layague, is a pay-what-you-can new play festival produced each October by the Orange County Playwrights Alliance, presented at No Square Theatre in the heart of Laguna Beach.
