Yuval Noah Harari, historian and global bestselling author of Sapiens and Nexus, joins Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize-winning journalist and author of the new The Fight Back, to examine a world being remade by artificial intelligence, destabilised by climate change and geopolitical upheaval, and tested by democracies under strain.
Harari has spent his career tracing the long arc of human history, from Sapiens to his most recent book, Nexus, an account of information networks from the Stone Age to AI. Ressa has confronted these forces firsthand, spending the past decade fighting disinformation and authoritarian power in the Philippines as CEO and co-founder of Rappler.

Maria Ressa is CEO, co-founder and President of Rappler, the Philippines's top digital news site. She is the current Nobel Laureate and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2021, the first Filipino in history to do so. Ressa won the UNESCO World Press Freedom Prize 2021 and was TIME Person of the Year in 2018. She has received countless awards for her work, including the Golden Pen of Freedom Award from the World Association of News Publishers. Her latest book is The Fight Back: A Citizen's Guide to Standing Up to Dictators.
