About this Event
“I’ve been waiting two decades for this book, and it was worth it.” Adam Grant
On 21 January, restaurateur, entrepreneur and bestselling author Danny Meyer joins 5x15 at the Emmanuel Centre for a special London evening exploring his new book, What Could Possibly Go Right?
As the founder of Union Square Hospitality Group, Meyer has created some of New York’s most celebrated restaurants including founding Shake Shack, which he scaled from a single kiosk in Madison Square Park into a global business.
His perennial bestseller Setting the Table introduced the world to Danny's ‘Enlightened Hospitality’, his philosophy that putting people first is the foundation of an enduring organisation. On the very first page Danny proudly claimed he had never had to close a restaurant, but then just a few years later had to close his beloved restaurant Tabla. He could have allowed this failure to define him and hold him back from his business goals, but instead it sparked the question that every business leader and entrepreneur will encounter at some point in their journey – how do you scale a business without losing what makes it special?
Now, in his first book in twenty years, Meyer returns with What Could Possibly Go Right, sharing the lessons of his remarkable career and asking how leaders can create energised teams, scale human relationships as well as businesses and build organisations that endure.
Join us at the Emmanuel Centre for an inspiring evening about leadership, entrepreneurship, human connection and the power of putting people first.
