About this Event
Join us for the 5th Annual Chicago Gynecologic Cancer Researcher Survivor Summit, Tackling Medical Misinformation, on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM CDT at UChicago Medicine’s Center for Care & Discovery 7th floor Boardroom. Whether you are navigating your own care, supporting a loved one, or working in the field, you’ll learn about new therapies, the latest gynecologic cancer research, and how to use tools like AI wisely. Keynote speaker Skyler Johnson, MD, will present “Combating Cancer Misinformation,” followed by interactive discussions on clinical trials, nutrition, patient-doctor communication, and supportive oncology.
This summit is open to patients, caregivers, survivors, clinicians, researchers, and policy and advocacy leaders, and each group has something to gain. Advocates will deepen their understanding of the issues that matter most to patients and the role advocacy plays in improving care. Clinicians and researchers will hear directly from patients and caregivers about their lived experiences, helping inform how care is delivered and how research is shaped. Everyone will have the chance to engage with one another and learn from each other’s perspectives.
Summit generously supported by Leslie Africano and her family.
