About this Event
Come meet Lansing area singles in person! We will provide an optional go-at-your-own-pace icebreaker activity, tabletop games, and conversation starters so you can relax and enjoy interacting with new people in a fun low-pressure environment.
To connect you with people who share your stage of life, this curated gathering is exclusively for singles ages 30 to 45. (Don't worry if you fall outside of that age range- we plan on holding events for other ages in the future!)
This event is brought to you by 517 Social, a new social club for singles in the greater Lansing area, started by two Lansing locals. We know people are sick of the apps, what with the endless swiping, the ghosting, the matching with someone and never actually meeting. But how else do you meet people? Go to a bar and hope someone chats you up? Sure, that can work but the odds are tough.
We thought that there really should be regular, in-person opportunities for people hoping to meet others, and so we figured we'd try our hand at it. The idea is that we'll start with casual mixers and from there we can potentially build a list of people's preferences based on questionnaires they fill out. That way, we can start curating future events around lifestyle and what people are actually looking for.

Check-in
Info: Upon check-in, you will be given a name tag and your human bingo card, which is a 5x5 grid of traits that will be used as an optional ice-breaker activity. There will be tear-off slips at the bottom to write your contact info and drop off with anyone you see potential with!

Info: We will explain how the event will be structured.
Human bingo & game tables
Info: These are optional ice-breaker activities! For human bingo, you'll walk around the room and find people that match the traits on the bingo card (e.g., grew up in Lansing or has more than one tattoo) and have them sign your card. We'll also have a few tables set up with Jenga and Connect 4 if you're up for some competition instead.

Bingo winners announced
Info: The host draws winners at random from everyone who's filled out and turned in their sheet. Three winners will get a gift card to a local coffee or tea shop.
Wrapping Up
Info: If you connected with someone, tear off a slip at the bottom of your bingo card. Write your name and number, and hand it over to them before you head out.
