Info: Dr Deshpande is currently the president of the BSCI. She has extensive experience and expertise in MRI imaging for cardiomyopathies, iron overload and ischaemia heart disease which includes stress adenosine MRI imaging. She is the lead for adult congenital heart imaging performing cardiac MRI and CT and has expertise in cardiac CT imaging for assessment for coronary artery disease and planning for TAVI procedures and aorta assessments.

Cardiac CT for congenital heart disease

Info: Dr Thomas Semple is a cardiothoracic imaging specialist with expertise in the imaging of heart and lung conditions in neonates, infants, children and adults
He graduated from Kings College, London, in 2009 and completed his postgraduate radiology training at the University College London Hospitals' (UCLH) training scheme in 2016. After completing his cardiac CT and paediatric radiology fellowships at Royal Brompton, Great Ormand Hospital and University College Hospital, Dr Semple undertook a two-year structural and functional lung magnetic resonance imaging (MR) fellowship at Royal Brompton, where he currently works.
Dr Semple is the clinical lead for congenital cardiac CT at Royal Brompton, and provides radiology input for multi-disciplinary team meetings, including:
- Paediatric and dult congential joint cardiology-cardiothoracic (JCC)
- Paediatric respiratory
- National Pulmonary Hypertension Service (NPHS)
- Paediatric intensive care imaging.

Info: Prof. Gianluca Pontone was graduated with honors in medicine in 1997 followed by post-graduate degree in cardiology and radiology and PhD in Clinical Methodology in 2001, 2006 and 2014 at University of Milan, Italy. He is currently Deputy Scientific Director and Director of Perioperative Cardiology and Cardiovascular Imaging Department and Co-director of Sport Cardiology Unit of Centro Cardiologico Monzino, a fully dedicated research hospital to cardiovascular disease and Professor of Cardiology at University of Milan. He is author of more than 650 indexed articles on international journal with an overall H-index of 69. He is currently chairman of EACVI Industry committee, EACVI board member and chairman of Italian Working group of Cardiovascular Imaging of Italian Society of cardiology. He is also associate editor of JACC, EHJCI, JCCT, Atherosclerosis and Eurointervention
