About the Instructors
Brett Granstrom & Keri Pilgrim
Spark Up Dance LLC - Spark Up Dance LLC. is an instructional and performance partner dance business owned by Brett Granstrom and operated with Keri Pilgrim.Brett Granstrom and Keri Pilgrim have been competing, performing, and teaching partner dancing together for over 15 years. Between them they have competitive and performance experience in Smooth Dances (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango), Latin Dances (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba) and West Coast Swing. In addition they have years of training in social dances such as NightClub Two Step, Salsa, Lindy hop, and Four Count Hustle just to name a few.
They are all about providing high quality instruction. Keri was awarded Oregon Teacher of the Year in 2019 due to her expert teaching skills. She also has a masters in biology and as such, uses physiology, anatomy and physics to augment her instruction. In addition she has backgrounds in ballet, modern dance, and yoga. Brett has taken a variety of teacher training courses/certifications and even teaches courses to students on how to be successful dance instructors. Brett has a strong performance background both on stage and through the microphone with his voice over business. He uses his experience and challenges as a performer to not only make learning more fun, but to instill into his students a growth mindset. Even better, both are trained and certified through Dance Vision International Dance Association (DIVIDA) for Ballroom Style dances.
