More than 160 years after the American Civil War, remarkable stories remain hidden in historical records, forgotten artifacts, and familiar places. Join Vincent Page and Alex Pruszenski of So Nobly Advanced as they introduce their ongoing initiative to uncover, research, preserve, and share these stories. Through two featured investigations—the life of Civil War veteran Enoch P. Holland, a member of Carnegie’s Captain Thomas Espy Post No. 153, and the intriguing story of the Teachers’ Cannon—they will explore how historical curiosity can lead to unexpected discoveries. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at the research process, including the use of primary sources, archival records, and modern digital tools, along with a preview of an interactive historical web application. Discover how So Nobly Advanced is bringing overlooked history to life and demonstrating that, even after more than a century and a half, there are still stories waiting to be told.
