About this Event
Nuzhat, a valued member of our local community, will be hosting the Foundry’s June Book Club.
This month we will be discussing Being Forty by Iranian author Nahid Tabatabaei.
The novel follows the life of a woman and talented cellist in Iran whose passion for music was interrupted by the Iranian Revolution. As she reaches forty, she begins to reflect on identity, lost dreams, marriage, creativity, and the possibility of reclaiming parts of herself she thought had disappeared. Sensitive and deeply human, the story offers a moving exploration of womanhood, art, and personal freedom within the social realities of contemporary Iran.
We encourage everyone to get hold of a copy and start reading as soon as possible so you can fully engage in the conversation.
