About this Event
Clay, Chi and The Five Elements
Join artist Rosa Nguyen for a gentle, immersive workshop exploring the connection between body, mind, spirit and material through clay and plants.
Rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the session invites participants to reflect on the relationship between our internal organs and the five elements through guided meditation and intuitive making. Participants will be introduced to hand-building techniques to create small, organic clay vessels, responding to meditative prompts that centre on ‘Chi’ and embodied awareness.
Emphasising process over outcome, the workshop offers a space for relaxation and creativity. The session includes an introduction to Rosa’s practice and the Bodies exhibition, followed by grounding exercises, hands-on clay work with guidance, and a final collaborative Ikebana-inspired installation using the vessels created. Attendees will leave with a renewed sense of creative bodily connection.
All materials are provided, please feel free to bring clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
