Samhain, the Celtic New Year (aka "Hallowe'en") is upon us!Samhain, meaning "Summer's End" and pronounced saah-win or saa-ween, is a celebration of the end of the harvest and the beginning of the ancient Celtic New Year! Come and enrich your senses with the magic of the season.
On Monday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. the Celtic Arts Center will be celebrating in person! We will be hosting a party at The Mayflower Club that will feature a Halloween costume contest. Winners will be chosen by all in attendance. There will be opportunities that night for folks to share a ghost story, a spooky poem, or holiday appropriate tune or song. Those that are interested in sharing something please keep it as close to 3-4 minutes and send us the details in an email to [email protected]. We will also have a traditional Celtic music jam session too, so musicians, please bring your instruments and your best tunes.
Admission to the Party is FREE...
But a $5 Suggested Donation would be much appreciated.
We'll be following the usual safety precautions and ask your best to arrive healthy and ready to have a good time. People wishing to bring delicious goodies of a potluck should make sure their contributions are professionally prepared and individually wrapped -- no crockpots or common containers, please. Liquid refreshments will be available from the bar.
Let's all play it safe and have some fun!
