Join the Santa Monica Conservancy for our annual Preservation Awards. This year's program brings together architecture, landscape restoration, and volunteer service to explore how caring for the places we share can enrich an entire community.
The Taste of Santa Monica reception starts at 2 PM with tasty bites from local favorites like Bun & Mi, Lula Cocina Mexicana, Roll'd Sushi, Vucacious Catering, Dolcenero, and Divine Vintage.
The awards program kicks off at 3 PM, featuring a special tribute to Frederick Fisher and Partners for their contributions to Santa Monica's built environment, highlighting their thoughtful approach to beloved historic sites like the Annenberg Community Beach House.
The Bay Foundation will be recognized for restoring coastal dunes along Santa Monica’s beach.
Hilda Weiss will receive the Volunteer Service Award for creating and staffing a garden tour featuring native California plants at the Conservancy’s Ocean Park headquarters.
During the program, Santa Monica Conservancy will also share a special advocacy update, inviting the public to join local preservation efforts, ahead of the December 14 Landmarks Commission hearing for the 1959 Penguin Coffee Shop/Mel's Diner.
