About this Event
2026 Peter A. Larkin Award Lecture - Hybrid Event
About the Lecture:
Over the past few decades, the number of farmed fish species has increased tremendously in aquaculture. Global production now relies on a unique mix of species: some have just recently been reared, while others have been domesticated and selected for tens of generations.
In this talk, Dr. Teletchea will discuss how global environmental change will impact fish domestication in the future. He will also explore two ways to tackle these challenges by (1) adapting the fish themselves to changing conditions, and (2) using new technologies to improve fish farms.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Fabrice Teletchea is a Professor at the University of Caen Normandy and an internationally recognized expert in fish biology and sustainable aquaculture. With over two decades of research, he specializes in the domestication of local fish species and has developed the STOREFISH database to optimize breeding strategies.
