Bathurst Library is pleased to be holding the 2026 Local Writers' Showcase celebrating, connecting and inspiring writers in our community across the Central West. The event will begin with a short Q&A with each writer before opening up to a chance for the audience and writers alike to mingle, share and connect. Discussions may involve talking about writing processes, inspiration, writing themes and more, plus roads to publication, tips and advice.
Participating writers:
Emma Doran, Andrew McGrath, Angela Hotham, Aaron Mason, Barry Browne, Esme Stevenson and Emma Gerts writing under the pen name Alexis Roberts.
Our line-up of writers/illustrators includes picture book authors, fantasy, non-fiction, fiction, and for the first year, a songwriter.
Booksplus Bathurst will be in attendance on the day.
If you are a budding writer, working through your own publishing journey or interested in supporting local creatives this event is a great place to meet and speak to like minded people.
