Jumptown Big Band presents a 1950’s Sock Hop dance Saturday October 10, 2026 at the Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium. Vintage clothing is encouraged. Our playlist will include swing, rock ‘n roll, and other period inspired musical numbers. This venue has a large dance floor and plenty of parking. A half-hour beginner dance lesson will start at 7:00pm provided by professional dance instructor Mindy Barnhart of Stumptown Dance to allow new swing dancers the opportunity to learn some steps and perhaps provide seasoned dancers with a brush up on the basics. The band plays from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. Portland's leading big band singer Claudia Knauer will keep you entertained with her exciting renditions of well-known favorites. We hope you can join us for what will be a memorable evening of music and dance. Tickets $25 at the door (cash or card). Tickets can also be pre-purchased.
