"Class, Labor and Workers' Experience in CCI's Cordwood Lumber Camps"
Saturday, October 17, at 1:00, during our 14th Annual Archaeology Fair
Join MI Tech’s Dr. LouAnn Wurst to hear about her research on the Coalwood cord-wood chopper’s sites located in the Hiawatha National Forest. Research from CCI’s payroll records adds new insights into the data recovered from archaeological excavations at four camps dating from 1900-1920, telling the story of the cordwood choppers and their families’ everyday life in the northern forest.
Fair is included with general admission, and free to members at the sponsor level on up.
