義太夫三味線は、人形浄瑠璃「文楽」や歌舞伎などに用いられる義太夫節（浄瑠璃）の伴奏楽器。
通常の三味線より棹や弦が太く胴が大ぶりで、豊かな倍音や深い余韻を備えた低音が特徴。
第２４回佐治敬三賞を受賞した一昨年のリサイタル、昨年のリサイタルに続き、第三回目となる今年も現代音楽、エレクトロニクス、ジャズ、即興とさまざまなジャンルを横断。ガムランアンサンブルとの共演という新たな挑戦もまじえて、そのユニークな音色に迫る。

The Gidayu shamisen is an accompaniment instrument used for Gidayu-bushi (Joruri), the narrative singing style featured in Bunraku puppet theater and Kabuki.
It has a thicker neck and strings than a standard shamisen, along with a larger body, and is characterized by rich overtones and deep, resonant bass tones.
Following her recital two years ago—which won the 24th Keizo Saji Award—and last year’s recital, this year’s performance—her third—once again spans various genres, including contemporary music, electronic music, jazz, and improvisation. Incorporating a new challenge—a collaboration with a gamelan ensemble—she delves deeper into the unique timbre of Gidayu shamisen.
