Are you interested in meeting other English-speakers who love to read? 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 Ó𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛.
The first book we will read together is "The Women Are Not Fine" by Hope Reese.
Why this book, you ask? Here are a few reasons:
- Hope is an expat living in Budapest (as many are in the group, although we have locals too)
- The subject matter and the cover make a perfect pairing with Halloween AND Friday the 13th - the date of our next book club.
- And I think this little known historical event about a group of women who took matters into their own hands will make for very intriguing discussions and debates.
THE BEST PART?! You can meet the author in person! Hope Reese will be at the November book club to talk about her book, answer your questions and sign copies.
The physical book is available to buy or order online in local bookshops like Bestsellers, Libertine and LibroShop (https://librotrade.hu/kereses-kif?query=the%20women%20are%20not%20fine). A quick search will bring up many options.
REMEMBER:
Please join us even if you don't read the book - just come to socialize! Meet English-speaking locals and expats from around the globe.
Bring books to swap or to leave on the sharing bookshelf.
See you on 13 November 2026 at 6 pm!
