One of J.S. Bach’s great works; reimagined for string trio.Watch as three of Australia's most experienced chamber musicians – violinist Zoë Black, violist Caroline Henbest and cellist Molly Kadarauch – reunite as a trio.
This Beacon Bach morning is devoted entirely to one work: Dimitri Sitkovetsky's arrangement of the Goldberg Variations for string trio. Originally written for solo keyboard, Bach's masterpiece begins with a simple, songlike aria before spinning out into thirty variations of astonishing range — from playful canons to moments of deep melancholy. Reimagined for strings, its many voices are given new breath and colour.
