About this Event
This workshop proposes zinemaking as an experimental method that brings together lived experiences, ideas and collective knowledge production while fostering speculative praxis. Zines have long served as tools for creating counter-narratives while offering a way to translate abstract ideas and experiences into tangible and shared forms. The workshop engages with the margin as a space of radical openness, challenging dominant logics of productivity and assumptions about what counts as knowledge.
Participants will collaboratively create a zine through different collage practices and materials while reflecting on the process and valuing experimentation over the outcome. The workshop creates a space for care, collective learning and experimentation, encouraging participants to think and imagine together. At the end you will be able to take home your zine page – and get the collective version in digital format!
All materials are provided. No other preparation is necessary.

Collage Working Club (CWC) is a weekly open workspace for artists working in the medium of paper. Organised in the format of alternate ‘drop in’ sessions and workshops masterclasses, it has both a regular facilitator, whilst also involving the artist community in the sharing of knowledge and skills. Providing materials, education and connections is the primary aim of CWC, and it will do this through the interdisciplinary art of collage as both an art form and a tool for personal growth.
