📣 We’re excited to announce that we’re co-hosting our very first spin-off event: a zine-workshop with the help of a previous Curious Minds speaker, Kate Compton! But what the heck is a zine? 🤔
Zines are handmade, photocopied, self-published mini books, with no rules! 📚
Since this is a spin-off event, we will switch things up a bit: no speakers, no presentations - just a hands-on workshop, open to all curious people.
You will create an 8 page book, about any topic (or no topic at all), and make copies to share and trade. We will look at past zines (big and very small) for ideas and inspiration. Next we will learn to fold an 8 page mini-zine from a single piece of paper. Then draw your zine! Once the zines are finished, they go off to the copier, giving you a stack of copies to swap with the other workshop participants. Everyone leaves with a library of freshly-made zines!
