Discover the Zentangle Method—an easy-to-learn, relaxing way to create beautiful images using structured patterns, one stroke at a time. You don’t need to be great at drawing or think of yourself as an artist. Simple dots, lines and curves gradually build into intricate designs, while the focus on each individual stroke can feel calming and almost meditative. You’ll create four unique bookmarks, one a week with different themes and art-inspired approaches each week. You’ll build a collection of reusable tangle patterns and experiment with different colour media. Each session offers a standalone project while adding to the skills and pattern ideas developed throughout the course.
A small materials pack is provided, with additional colour materials available to borrow. Your finished bookmarks will make thoughtful handmade gifts—perhaps paired with a second-hand book from WE Are Books!
Ildica Boyd has a “passion for patterns”! When she isn’t teaching or creating Zentangle art—including large-scale street-furniture boxes and community projects—she can be found swapping her pen for a weaving shuttle, working at her loom or teaching weaving.
