The YSFF Soundstage at WYSO is thrilled to have screenwriters Jonathan Keasey and Justin Mac Gregor host our free educational seminar in 2026. The event will cover their recent projects and how to balance research and writing about true stories. The event will also include an audience Q&A.
Jonathan Keasey is a proud member of the prestigious Writers Guild of America since 2012, Keasey has crafted content for Amazon, Apple, Sony, Warner Brothers, and StudioCanal, among others. In 2024, The New York Times called his film Parallel, starring Aldis Hodge and streaming on Apple and Amazon, one of the must watch sci-fi films of the year. His latest film Tow starring Rose Byrne and Octavia Spencer premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival and is now streaming on Apple and Amazon. He is currently adapting Tobias Wolff's National Medal of the Arts novella The Barracks Thief, and guest lectures at Trinity College Dublin.
Based out of the prestigious Trinity College Dublin, Justin Mac Gregor is a filmmaker, theatre-maker and academic. He was Head of Film for 5 years and is currently the Head of the School of Creative Arts which includes Drama, Film and Music, and which is ranked in the Top 40 in this area in the world. He also reviews films for the Irish national broadcaster, RTE.
