Ian Svenonius is an American musician, artist, author, and filmmaker whose singular career has helped shape the sound and attitude of underground music. He first gained attention as the frontman of the influential punk group Nation of Ulysses, before forming the genre-defying Make-Up and later leading Weird War, Chain & the Gang, and Escape-ism. He is also the author of The Psychic Soviet and Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock ’n’ Roll Group.
