About this Event
How can we create spaces where young people can encounter God in ways that feel meaningful, accessible and rooted in their everyday lives?
This training and resourcing session is for churches, schools and community settings who want to explore practical ways of developing youth sacred spaces.
Whether you already have an established youth ministry and would like to try something new, have a small number of young people and want to offer something intentional for them, or are hoping to create a space that reaches out to new young people, this session will help you think creatively and confidently about what could work in your context.
During the session we will look at what Youth Sacred Spaces are, what they might look like in your context, and where young people are today. We will explore how to begin well and create the right environment. The session will also introduce a simple structure for Youth Sacred Spaces: Welcome, Worship, Word, Waiting, Witness and Weighing. Together, we will consider practical ideas for each part, discuss how the diocesan team could come alongside you, how group work shapes the way young people engage, how to reflect, evaluate and develop the space after each gathering.
Youth Sacred Spaces is a practical training session that helps churches, schools and community groups create meaningful spaces where young people can explore faith and encounter God. Participants will gain ideas, resources and a simple framework to confidently develop sacred spaces that work in their own context. Why it matters: It equips leaders to support young people's spiritual growth, create a sense of belonging, and offer faith experiences that connect with the realities of young people's everyday lives.
