About this Event
Become a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor and empower adults in your community to support young people (ages 12–18) experiencing mental health or substance use challenges.
This intensive 3-day interactive training prepares you to deliver the official, evidence-based curriculum through a mix of adult learning theory, group facilitation practice, and a live presentation evaluation.
What to expect:
- Comprehensive Training: Dynamic modules covering adolescent development, the 5-step ALGEE action plan, and safe classroom management.
- Hands-On Practice: A formal "teach-back" session where you practice instructing a segment of the course and receive expert feedback.
- Ready-to-Teach Materials: Upon passing, you receive full access to official toolkits, presentation slides, and digital student manuals.
Help build a stronger safety net for youth by teaching others how to spot the signs, offer initial support, and connect young people to the right care.
Please note that applicants must first complete either the Youth or Adult Mental Health First Aid training or have taken it in the last 2 years to be eligible for this training.
