................................................
Mixed Media Mash is an exciting combination of drawing, painting, and clay play with tons of opportunities to explore a variety of art mediums and creative processes.
DRAWING — We'll explore different drawing styles, subjects, and techniques; develop our own unique drawing style; and discover ways to communicate our one-of-a-kind creative perspective. Drawing with joy, confidence, and inner kindness is always the focus!
PAINTING — We'll experiment with expressive brushwork, colour, texture, and layering through a variety of fun painting activities. Artists will always be encouraged to pursue their own creative vision!
CLAY PLAY — We'll sink our hands into playful, tactile clay activities—sculpting, cutting, pinching, rolling, and texturizing—as we learn to think in 3D while letting go, experimenting, and having FUN!
................................................
Along the way, we'll have opportunities to mix things up by combining different art mediums, materials, and techniques.
Maybe we'll layer a drawing with ink and watercolour; add pastel or pencil crayon to a painting; or incorporate painted paper, fabric, or collage into an art piece. Ms. Rose is always adding new activities each term so that new and returning students stay engaged.
The creative possibilities are endless!
................................................
The goal is never to create “perfectly,” but to learn to silence the inner critic so that we can create expressively and joyfully—to experiment, play, and discover what happens when we freely explore different artistic materials and approaches, and lead with our amazing imaginations!
................................................
Instruction will include a happy mix of step-by-step guidance and gently guided process art.
Artists will always be encouraged to develop their own creative style and add their unique artistic touch!
................................................
Examples of media:
Pencil, pencil crayon, marker, charcoal, oil pastel, watercolour, acrylic paint, clay, collage materials, fabric, and more!
