"Your First Year" is a facilitated taster of Your First Year, a twelve-month business simulation built for women founders who wouldn't call themselves 'numbers people'. Participants start with £1,000 of savings and make the real decisions a first-year founder faces: what to charge, whether to take the big order with 60-day payment terms, what to do about the late payer, whether to put money aside for tax. It is a decision-engine tool designed so choices compound and consequences surface months later, letting founders feel the cost of a decision before it happens for real.
In this ninety-minute session, a small group will play through several months together, then debrief on the patterns that emerged. It doubles as live user testing for the tool itself, so MKTW attendees help shape a product built specifically to close the confidence gap that keeps many women founders stuck in the planning stage.
