We have one goal: a clean beach!
You’re invited to join Connecticut Public’s Young People Hate the Radio team to clean up Hammonasset Beach.
Young People Hate the Radio is Connecticut Public’s answer to the loneliness young people around Connecticut are facing. Our events are designed to help you meet your people and do some good along the way!
We are teaming up with our partners at Our New England and the New England News Collaborative.
THE GOAL: Clean up Hammonasset Beach State Park to help our community and make new friends!
WHERE: Meigs Point at Hammonasset Beach State Park
WHEN: Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10 AM –12 PM (assemble at 9:30 AM)
MEETING SPOT: Meigs Point at Hammonasset Beach State Park
WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable clothes, gloves, sunscreen, water bottle
Connecticut Public will provide some cleaning supplies, trash bags and limited refreshments.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear lightweight, casual clothing that is easy to wash. We also recommend bringing your own gloves, sunscreen, and water bottles. If you have your own cleaning supplies, we recommend you bring those as well.
Please bring your own water or water bottle. We will have limited refreshments available to supplement.
PARKING: Free Parking available at Meigs Point at Hammonasset Beach State Park
There is a restroom onsite.
