YOU CAN’T SAY THAT is a show about the things you’re apparently not supposed to talk about.
So naturally, for our first show, we’re talking about Israel and Palestine.
Starting gently.
Sundeep Bhardwaj and Richard sit down with Fatima, a former teacher whose decision to speak publicly about Israel and Palestine had some very real consequences.
We’ll talk about free speech, cancel culture, work, politics, identity — and the increasingly complicated question:
What exactly are you allowed to say anymore?
And more importantly: who do you have to check with before saying it?
Your boss? The government? Instagram? That one guy in the comments with an Israeli flag and 14 numbers in his username?
Expect uncomfortable questions, unexpected answers, plenty of humour and probably several moments where everyone in the room thinks:
“You can’t say that.”
This isn’t a debate. It isn’t a lecture. And nobody is getting three uninterrupted minutes for a rebuttal.
It’s a conversation.
