NETWORK's Erie Chapter and Benedictines for Peace are hosting monthly public prayer, "You Are Not Alone" Community Witness for Immigrants, Migrants, and Refugees on the second Friday of each month on the steps of the Federal Courthouse at 12:15 PM, ending about 12:45 PM.A different local faith congregations will organize and plan each month’s vigil. The October 9th vigil will be led by the Benedictine Oblates of The Benedictine Sisters of Erie.
Our many faith traditions call us to love and care for others, especially the vulnerable and marginalized. We recognize the God-given dignity of every person among us. We claim our community as a place of welcome. We choose hope and unity over division and fear, which so many experience through the threat of deportation or family separation. We believe that prayer leads to advocacy and action.
