About this Event
The Sunday scaries don't stand a chance against a room full of Yorkies.
Welcome to Yorkie Puppy Yoga by Yoga Kawa in Toronto. This is an hour of beginner-friendly yoga with real, live Yorkshire Terrier puppies loose on the mats. They will climb on you, fall asleep on you, and absolutely derail your warrior pose. It is the best kind of interruption.
Yorkies are tiny but they have no idea. Bold, curious, and deeply convinced they are the most important thing in any room, they bring a specific kind of comedic energy that makes this class impossible to take too seriously.
Here's how the hour breaks down:
- 35 minutes of easy, beginner-friendly yoga
- 20 minutes of connection and cuddle time
- 5 minutes of sharing circle
Why people keep coming back
Puppy yoga in Toronto does something a regular yoga class cannot. A puppy wanders over, settles against your leg, and your nervous system just... exhales. Sunday evenings can carry a particular kind of dread, and there is something about a Yorkie flopped across your shin that makes the whole week feel a lot more manageable.
A note on Yorkie puppies
Yorkshire Terriers are small in size and enormous in personality. They are affectionate, alert, and surprisingly fearless for a dog you could carry in a tote bag. Yorkies tend to bond quickly with the people around them, which means you may find one very determined puppy following you from pose to pose. They are also known for their silky coats and their habit of demanding attention on their own schedule, which fits perfectly in a yoga class that is already going sideways in the best possible way.
Kids are welcome at this one.
Children ages 5 and up are welcome. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who also participates in the class and helps their child move gently and interact with the puppies with care.
Mats provided. No experience needed. Come exactly as you are, Sunday tired and all.
