Be introduced to and inspired by the women of York who walked before you, as you follow this one-woman performance in their footsteps. This is fiction based on fact. A ghost story with a difference.

Learn how Celtic Queen Cartimandua came to be known as the people's peacekeeper but why she waged war with her ex-husband long after their divorce. Find out what was written in the stars for Roman Empress Julia Domna and how they shaped her reality.

Let the Ivory Bangle Lady show you her final resting place and allow Lady Isabel German, York's Medieval Anchoress show you how she spent her days. Meet Roman Goddess Minerva, Goddess of Wisdom and Drama, and learn why it's of the utmost importance that we pay her respect.

Take a walk down what was once York's Red Light District and come face to face with Mary Jane Sutherland, a Lady of the Night. Hear her story and her plight. Meet one of the very first-known feminists, Josephine Butler, a woman who fought for the rights of other women and their bodies.

Get to know the modern-day women of this city, Sarah Coggles, and Victoria Bage, and listen to the stories they have to tell. Come face to face with a supposed witch, Jennet Preston, a wise woman, and hear why she was executed here in this very city!

Meet the Pearl of York, York's very own Martyr, Margaret Clitherow, and find out why she chose to die in the name of her faith. Let Gentleman Jack, Anne Lister, tell you how she fell in love time and time again but why she chose Ann Walker to build a life with. Find York's forgotten artist, Mary Ellen Best, and see where she sat to paint when the day turned to rain.

All the while being guided along the enchanting streets of York by your storyteller, Sasha Parker, one of York's local lasses. This adult storytelling tour is rated 15+ as the content is aimed at a mature audience.

Starting outside Bennett's Cafe and Bistro, 30-32 High Petergate, York, YO1 7EH, Sasha will lead you along York's cobbled streets to find her hidden gems, the Women of York who helped build this city from the ground up.

Tales of bravery, mystery, and magic to name but a few. From ancient legends to real-life heroines, you'll be captivated by the stories these women have to tell.

Don't miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to delve into the captivating world of York's Women, Witches, and Warriors.
