🌞Yoga Sunday in the Park with Woke Chicago
A Community Wellness Experience Rooted in Collective Healing
Step into sacred space with us this August as we gather under open skies for a powerful Sunday morning ritual of movement, breath, and connection in beautiful Humboldt Park.
Whether you’re a longtime yogi or brand new to the mat, this is for you. Each week features a different guest teacher bringing their own flavor of soulful, trauma-informed practice — creating a vibrant space for healing, joy, and renewal.
These Sunday sessions are more than a yoga class. They’re part of a living, breathing movement — where wellbeing is a right, not a luxury. Join us as we continue building a world where care is communal and accessible.
🌿What to Expect
- A 60-minute all-levels yoga session led by one of our rotating guest instructors
- Mindful movement, grounding breathwork, and restorative energy
- Community-centered practice with music, heart, and space for all identities
- A chance to unplug, root down, and reconnect — with yourself and each other
🧘🏽♀️Logistics
- Time: Arrive by 10:45 AM | Class begins promptly at 11:00 AM
- Location: Humboldt Park Boathouse1301 N Humboldt Dr, Chicago, IL 60622
- Weather Plan: In case of rain, class will be held under the Boathouse shelter
- Mats: Bring your own if you have one. A limited number will be available to borrow.

Your ticket directly supports Woke Chicago’s mission to offer free and low-cost wellness programming on the West and South Sides.

Woke Chicago is a Black woman-founded nonprofit making trauma-informed wellness accessible to historically disinvested communities. Since 2020, we’ve served thousands through:
- Yoga and mindfulness programs in schools
- Outdoor healing events like Yoga Sundays and Sound Baths
- Partnerships with community orgs and youth-led initiatives
- Free and sliding-scale wellness offerings across the city
At our core, we believe in radical care, joy as resistance, and the power of communal healing. These Sunday gatherings are part of our larger vision — and our evolving celebration of five years of impact.
