This is an opportunity to experience the power and beauty of nature when combined with the benefits of practicing Yoga and Mindfulness. We will spend time amongst the sanctuary of 12,000 trees at Bedgebury Pinetum near Goudhurst in Kent. Practising outdoors, in green space, helps to boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, reduce cortisol and cholesterol, whilst improving general wellbeing – whatever the weather, all year round!
This session will also include some practical tips on how to set up a regular outdoor class, a Q&A session/sharing of ideas from anyone who is already teaching outdoors.
Since 2023, Lisa no longer teaches yoga indoors. Her mission is to share her love of teaching connected to nature and encourage as many teachers as possible to get outside with their students, too.
In 2024 Lisa piloted a Forest Yoga “green social prescribing” course for Forestry England, designed for people suffering from long term mental and physical health conditions. There were some remarkable results and she will share the findings with you.
With 1 in 4 adults living with a diagnosable mental health condition and long waiting lists for treatment, there has never been a better time for yoga teachers to help people in their community to find the tools to cope and thrive. Nature enhances the benefits of yoga in a way that it is difficult to describe why not take some time and space to relax and let nature work its magic?
